The Italian media are reporting a maddening story surrounding former Everton striker Samuel Eto’o on Monday.
Eto’o left Goodison Park to join Sampdoria just six days ago, however the seasoned striker’s life in Italy has begun rather badly.
Eto’o was given a 19 minute debut in Samp’s 5-1 away defeat at Torino in Serie A on Sunday, and the 33-year-old then walked out of Monday’s training session.
Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic called a double training session as punishment for the Torino defeat, but Eto’o was having none of it. Instead, reported Gazzetta dello Sport, after completing the first session, the Cameroonian forward left the training ground without speaking to Mihajlovic.
Calciomercato are further reporting that Sampdoria are trying to reach a compromise between Mihajlovic and Eto’o, but if none can be found then the striker’s contract will be terminated with immediate effect.
Should the player find his contract rescinded, Eto’o would be unable to sign for a new club until the summer as the Cameroonian has already played for two clubs in one season (Everton and Sampdoria).
