Sam Allardyce: ‘We’ve given James Tomkins community service for assaulting police officer [Video]

West Ham have handed James Tomkins community service punishment after the defender was found guilty of assaulting a police office and being drunk and disorderly.

The incident occurred back in December, but Tomkins was only formally fined by the magistrates this week.

The club have also decided to punish him, by sending him out amongst the people to carry out community service.

Boss Sam Allardyce says his behaviour was irresponsible, unacceptable, and won’t be tolerated.
