Saido Berahino will be feeling David De Gea’s pain after he was denied a move on transfer deadline day. He’s taken a very different to the Manchester United man, however.
The West Brom striker took to Twitter to make his frustration known and, with the tweet aimed at the club’s chairman, vowed to never play for the Baggies again.
He furiously typed: “Sad how i cant say exactly how the club has treated me but i can officially say i will never play Jeremy Peace.”
It’s the latest instance of players not thinking before they tweet. Yet one can imagine that this was a very much restrained Berahino tweeting.
The forward couldn’t hold back his anger after Spurs had a fourth bid rejected said to be worth around £25 million. He handed in a transfer request last week which was rejected.
Player power has really taken a knock this summer with John Stones also failing to force through a move to Premier League champions Chelsea.
