Real Madrid are set to scrap the transfer of Lucas Silva in favour of a move for World Cup winning midfielder Christoph Kramer.
The developments were revealed this morning after Carlo Ancelotti was interviewed on the Spanish radio station Cadena Cope.
Reporter Paco Gonzalez said that the club have decided against bringing Cruzeiro midfielder Silva to Spain as Ancelotti requires a player who could adapt quicker.
He thinks that player could be Borussia Monchengladbach bruiser Kramer who, ironically, is best known for picking up a concussion in the final of football’s grand competition in July against Argentina.
It was never Ancelotti’s intention to buy anyone in January but injuries to Luka Modric and Sami Khedira require the Italian boss to make moves if he is to continue fighting on all fronts.
He admitted on the radio station this morning that Kramer was a player he quite liked and it’s believed that legendary coach Arrigo Sacchi advised Ancelotti to move for the German believed to be worth as much as €15 million!
