Real Madrid are lining up a sensational summer move for Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, the Sun claim.
Amazingly, the Sun reference their source as unnamed ‘rumours’ – when they are the ones who probably started the rumour.
To be fair, there has been noise in Germany of late of Madrid making a summer move for the Bayern forward, but no fee had been mooted.
The Sun claim that Madrid are prepared to spend £75m on Lewandowski, which would fall just shy of the current world record fee they hold for the signing of Gareth Bale.
Nonetheless, it would grant Florentino Perez the another Galactico coup to appease the Madrid fans should they fail to win anything this season.
There’s just one problem though: Madrid have been hit with a FIFA transfer ban, and unless their appeal is successful, they won’t be making any bids this summer.
Incredibly, The Sun don’t even mention Madrid’s transfer ban in their article….it’s as if they they didn’t know about it…
