Rayo Vallecano won an impressive stat at Barcelona in their 5-2 defeat

The Camp Nou enjoyed a seven goal thriller on Saturday night as Neymar had a magical night for FC Barcelona.

With Lionel Messi out of action with an injury, Neymar stepped into the superstar role against Rayo Vallecano as the Brazilian scored four times in a 5-2 win.

Despite losing the match, Rayo chalked up an impressive stat in the defeat.

Rayo won 55% of the overall possession in the match – Barcelona having just 45% – and that was the least amount of possession Barcelona have had in a La Liga home match since April 27, 2003.

That’s twelve long years!

As to the Neymar stats, the 23-year-old became the fourth Brazilian to net a four goal haul in La Liga, while the striker has now scored four goals in five different matches in his career.

Barcelona return to action in the Champions League on Tuesday night, when the reigning cup holders travel to Bulgaria to take on minnows BATE Borisov.
