The front pages of two of Italy’s biggest papers, Gazzetta Dello Sport and Tuttosport, both lead with transfer stories surrounding the future of Juventus and French starlet Paul Pogba.
According to Gazzetta, Juventus officials have flown to Paris for a meeting with PSG, and by all accounts the Parisians are willing to spend €70m to lure the former Manchester United midfielder to France.
The meeting in Paris was attended by Juventus owner Andrea Agnelli and his PSG counterpart Nasser Al Khelaifi.
Gazzetta add, “so far Juventus held out (from agreeing a deal for Pogba) because Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City also have set their eyes on the midfielder. This competition gives strength to the strategy Juventus to defend its jewel.”
Over in Tuttosport, however, the line being peddled is that Juventus are refusing to sell their star midfielder at any cost.
Ignoring the supposed interest from PSG, Real Madrid, Man City and Chelsea, the front page of the paper has a quote from Andrea Agnelli saying “I won’t sell Pogba!’ We are not a selling club. Paul is precious for us and for humanity.”
