Sometimes stories come around too often not to be taken seriously.

FOr a number of weeks now various transfer rumours have been coming out of the Parc de Princes, and what seems inevitable is that PSG are set to go all-guns-blazing in the backend of the 2012-13 season.

Launret Blanc already has a side glittering with superstars – Zlatan, Cavani and Veratti to name a few – but the Parisians, backed by their uber wealthy Qatari owners look set to spend big in the January transfer window.

Despite the fact that they are likely to have to fork out a premium for mid-season acquisitions, respected French daily L’Equipe say Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye and Chelsea’s Juan Mata are firmly in the sights of the Ligue 1 leaders.

L’Equipe say that Cabaye is the priority for Blanc. The duo have previously worked together on the international scene, and Newcastle’s non-involvement in Europe means that Cabaye would be available for the Champions League last-16 tie with Bayer Leverkusen.

Regarding Mata, despite the Spaniard’s limited involvement for Chelsea so far this season, the Blues are resolute that the forward is staying. The only realistic scenario for Mata leaving Stamford Bridge this winter would be if he handed Jose Mourinho with a transfer request.
