Lewandowski will sign for Bayern on Jan 2nd despite Real Madrid upping their bid, tweets Polish TV anchor

Despite the fact Robert Lewandowski’s next club has been an open secret for some time, the Polish striker has continued to be linked with various club in papers across Europe for some time.

After pushing for a move to Bayern Munich last summer, it has long been understood that Lewandowski is holding out for a transfer to the German champions from his current employers Borussia Dortmund.

Lewandowski is hoping to complete a free transfer move at the end of the season, with paper reports claiming that all personal terms are agreed between the striker and the Bavarian giants.

On Sunday night Lewandowski appeared on Polish TV show “Cafe Futebol” to update viewers on the latest news regarding his career, and like a good politician the centre-forward refused to give a definitive answer about his next steps on the small screen.

During his interview Lewandowski commented:

I do not know if I’ll be going to Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. Currently I’m still a Borussia Dortmund player.

Following that wishy-washy statement, Cafe Futebol’s host Mateusz Borek released a tweet claiming:

On January 2, Robert will sign a contract with Bayern for 4 to 5 years. Bayern have given their word [the deal will happen], even though real [Madrid] has upped their bid a few times. He will stay at BVB until the end of the season.
