Pictures: Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas in an Inter Milan shirt

One of the most intriguing ties of the Europa League last 16 features Tottenham against Inter Milan.

Two years after two excellent encounters in the Champions League, where arguably Gareth Bale made his name in Europe (see the awesome Richard Swarbrick video below), this is another huge test for Spurs.

With a big Premier League match against Liverpool on Sunday and just days after beating Arsenal in the north London derby, Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas will be keen to keep the momentum going against the Nerazzurri.

This also marks an encounter for AVB against one of his former clubs as he spent a short amount of time at the San Siro as part of Jose Mourinho’s back room staff in 2009.

After working together at Chelsea, it is believed that Mourinho and AVB fell out during their time at Inter with the now Spurs manager eager for promotion.

In August last year, AVB admitted that “I was working for José for five years but we haven’t spoken for quite some time. I haven’t got his number.”

Villas-Boas then moved to Academica and Porto before spells at Chelsea and now Tottenham.

On his last day at Inter Milan, AVB was presented with the shirt seen below.

The picture above is from a famous training game when Jose Mourinho scored a wonder solo goal – see first video below – AVB can be seen in the background as “The Special One” sets off on his run.
