PFA announce POTY & YPOTY nominees: Got to be Luis Suarez & Eden Hazard, right?!

The Professional Footballers Association have announced their nominees for the Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.

They were initially announced on Twitter and it will come as no surprise, that they are heavily dominated by Liverpool players.

Winners will be announced on Sunday week, just hours after Liverpool host Chelsea at Anfield.

Whilst Steven Gerrard might make a late claim – it has to be Luis Suarez for us.

The Uruguayan has blitzed the Premier League despite missing the first five matches of the season and the voting was held in the midst of his incredible form, which has tailed off a little.

Of the young players, it looks like a straight shoot-out between Eden Hazard and Daniel Sturridge. For us the Belgian has been more impressive over the course of the whole campaign.

But, this prize is often awarded to English players so Sturridge must have a real chance.

There seems absolutely no chance that anyone will replicate Gareth Bale winning both awards last season – unless Hazard or Sturridge trump Suarez but the Uruguayan is surely a the runaway favourite.
