Pep Guardiola has shot down rumours that he’s in cohorts with Manchester City and reiterated his commitment to German champions Bayern Munich.
As the heat is being turned up on current City coach Manuel Pellegrini, papers are claiming that the Premier League champions are already eyeing up replacements.
Diego Simeone and Carlo Ancelotti have been mentioned but Guardiola was said to be the golden goose that City wanted to nourish their under-performing squad.
The Spanish coach didn’t leave these links to linger.
At his press conference today, Pep stated he had no desire to leave.
In quotes published by the Guardian, he said: “Manchester City? I did not receive any offers and I am not waiting for them. I hope to stay at Bayern Munich for a long time.
“I have a contract with this wonderful club and aim to fulfil that. I have not received any offers. We’ll sit down in the summer and talk. I am very happy here and this is an extraordinary club.”
Guardiola made his name as both a player and a coach at Barcelona. A refined intelligent footballer, he proved to be even more useful from the sideline and won everything during his time in charge at Barca.
