Pep Guardiola was already behind one signing at Man City [El Confidencial]

The lead football story for Spanish daily El Confidencial is the reveal that Pep Guardiola has been advising Man City about signings for a while already.

Dutch paper Telegraaf have grabbed the limelight this week for exposing a secret meeting between the current Bayern Munich coach and Man City director Txiki Begiristain in Amsterdam.

Looking at the story with a wide lens, Bayern fans are likely to be concerned by the meeting in Holland as it uncovers how Pep is juggling between his current job in Munich and his future job at the Etihad stadium.

Can he really do both, whilst continuing to perform at the top of his game for the Bavarians?

In a twist, El Confidencial now claim that Pep has actually been involved in Man City transfer scene for some time.

According to the paper, Guardiola was contacted before the Sky Blues signed Kevin De Bruyne from Wolfsburg. City spent an enormous 75 million euros on Belgium midfielder. As reported:

[El Confidencial] has learned that at least one signing last season at Manchester City was welcomed Guardiola. Kevin De Bruyne.. was the last major purchase by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed.

Before completing the deal Begiristain spoke to Guardiola, although it is not known if he asked for advice in a friendly capicity, or because it was known he would be [Pep’s] future employee.
