Paul Scholes wants to quit BT Sport for a coaching role at Manchester United [MEN]

Paul scholes coaching

Paul Scholes wants to return to Manchester United as a coach, the Manchester Evening News report.

The outspoken BT Sport pundit hasn’t been shy to criticise United during the Louis van Gaal reign but few would argue that his points have been invalid or come from a bitter place.

Scholes had a brief coaching stint with United after David Moyes was sacked in April 2014, coming back to help his old friend Ryan Giggs and take up a role in the backroom staff. He’s keen to kickstart his coaching career.

United have been oddly distant with Scholes despite his standing at the club. There are theories that Ed Woodward doesn’t want to give the Class of 92 too many key roles at United for fear of a power struggle.

A proud man, the Ginger Prince would happily give up his BT Sport role for a job at Old Trafford but won’t ask for anything from United. Perhaps Van Gaal’s successor will bring him into the fold.
