Crazy scenes took place in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Tuesday night as the encounter between Malmo and Helsingborg had to be abandoned after just 30 minutes.
Helsingborg keeper Per Hansson was knocked to the ground by a Malmo fan just seconds after the visiting side had taken the lead through Rachid Bouaouzon.
Referee Stefan Johannesson withdrew the players off the field and 20 minutes announced that the match was abandoned. “It’s just awful that this had to happen,” Johannesson told Canal Plus TV.
The Swedish Allsvenskan has been the scene of plenty of hooligan problems this season with a match between AIK and Syriansko called off in April due to a linesman being hit by a firecracker.
