Panathinaikos and Larissa fans battle riot police and throw flares

Another weekend, another riot.

This weekend trouble broke out in Greece, as Panathinaikos and Larissa fans caused their league match to be held up for 10 minutes while law and order was restored. Chaos disrupted proceedings, with fans seen tossing lit flares and other projectiles into the opposing sections of supporters, while other fans were found battling out with the riot police, a scene which has become a weekly occurrence across the football stadia of Europe.

Incredibly, the match was initially allowed to continue as the violence was building momentum, leaving surreal images of the footballers playing out the match on the field while the fans were busy being preoccupied in the mayhem around them.
