It is common practice to see players swapping shirts at the full-time whistle, and sometimes players even go as far as to don the opposition sweat-dripping kits as they exit the field as a mark of respect. Sadly, such etiquette was lacking in the behaviour of Roda JC’s Norwegian defender Pa-Modou Kah after his side’s match with Ajax last weekend.
At the end of the game, which finished 2-2, Kah swapped shirts with the Amsterdammers’ forward Luis Suarez and, following convention, the centre-half even went as far as to wear the shirt as he trundled around the pitch.
Then came the twist.
With fellow teammate Anouar Hadouir in attendance, Kah decided to give the home crowd something extra to cheer about as the defender disrespectfully removed the shirt and opted to shove it down his shorts instead. In turn, the crowd wildly applauded Kah’s public display of chutzpha.
