It is safe to say Arsenal fans will LOVE the following clip, which came 13 minutes into Wolves surprise 1-1 draw with Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Emmanuel Frimpong has arguably already achieved cult status at Arsenal despite the fact he has barely performed impressively for Arsene Wenger’s first team.
The fact he is a dogged midfielder, of which there are few at the Emirates, and his “Dench” inspired antics on Twitter means he is a fans’ favourite even though he is far from assured a long-term future at Arsenal.
At Spurs yesterday, Frimpong again added to his adoration among Arsenal supporters with a fine display for 67 minutes before he was removed by Mick McCarthy with a second booking on the cards.
Booed throughout, Frimpong got stuck in from the off, picking up a booking for a needless challenge on the half hour. For the rest of the match the Arsenal starlet was on a tight rope.
Frimpong did have one attacking flurry blocked by Younes Kaboul at the end of the first half and in the second came close to scoring with a terrific volley, saved by Brad Friedel.
Second half fouls on Modric and Lennon meant Frimpong was withdrawn but he impressed with his enthusiasm and drive in the heart of the Wolves midfield. If Arsene Wenger can get the balance right, Frimpong could yet be a regular for Arsenal in the years to come.
