The rumours have been rife for months, but it appears yet another of the drawn out transfer sagas has come to an end. Marca have claimed this afternoon that Neymar is Real Madrid’s newest Galactico.
Neymar underwent a medical in Sao Paulo on Sunday and will put pen to paper today on a mega deal befitting his status as the boy wonder of Brazilian football.
Real Madrid will pay 60 million euros, Neymar will earn 7 million euros a season in a six year deal and will become the fourth highest earner at the club behind Iker Casillas, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka.
Crucially, Jose Mourinho will be unable to call upon Neymar until the summer of 2012 with the Santos forward expected to rock up in Madrid after next summer’s Olympics in London.
To celebrate the deal, Neymar who played for Santos in their win at Corinthians yesterday, took a trip to the concert of Brazilian singer Gusttavo Lima.
Never one to shun the limelight, Neymar found himself on stage and danced and sang with Lima much to the delight of what sounds like many, many teenage girls in the crowd.
