Newcastle boss Alan Pardew: ‘We looked fitter and stronger, 0-2 was flattering on Man City’ [Video]

Newcastle put in a decent performance at St James Park, but as is so often the case when playing a team of reigning champions, the small margins made the difference, as Man City came away with the spoils with a 2-0 win.

The game was neck and neck throughout though, with City only scoring their second in the 90th minute, and having scored their first at just the right time, 6 minutes before the break.

Speaking afterwards, Magpies boss Alan Pardew couldn’t believe his side didn’t get anything from the game, believing that they looked ‘stronger and fitter’ than City, and that the 2-0 scoreline flattered City somewhat.

Pardew also praised his summer signings, in particular Jack Colback and Remy Cabella.
