Napoli make contact over Fellaini, Man United to answer in 48 hours [Di Marzio]

Does Marouane Fellaini have a future at Manchester United?

The big afro-haired Belgian has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford all summer.

But, Fellaini came on and scored the winner against Valencia in a mid-week pre-season friendly and has suggested in the English papers that he is keen to fight for his place under Louis van Gaal.

On Thursday, the ultra-reliable Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed that Napoli have made an official approach for Fellaini.

Whilst Di Marzio does not confirm whether it is a permanent offer, all the chatter so far this summer has been that Napoli want Fellaini on loan.

Now its up to Louis van Gaal, who has promised Napoli an answer within 48 hours from their request.

Which suggests that if LVG includes Fellaini in his first team on Saturday for the visit of Swansea or will be counting on the Belgian off the bench, he could yet have a role to play at Old Trafford this season.

Or Fellaini will be at Napoli in time for the start of the Serie A season and will have Champions League football to look forward to as he looks to rebuild his career…
