Napoli considering bid for Arsenal target Sami Khedira [Gazetta]

With Sami Khedira telling Bild journalists ‘I’m a bit outside Real Madrid now’ last night, the German World Cup winner looks sure to leave Los Blancos before the end of the transfer window.

Arsenal have appeared the favourites to sign Khedira throughout the transfer window, though there have been doubts over whether they’d be willing to pay his wages.

The Gunners now have a new competitor to contend with, as Napoli have entered the ‘race’ to sign Khedira, according to Gazetta dello Sport.

The Italian paper claim that having seen Fellaini get injured, the Neapolitans are looking for an alternative defensive midfielder, and see Khedira as the perfect option – especially as they enjoy such strong relations with Madrid, having paid them good money for Callejon and Albiol in recent seasons.
