Poor Kyle Neill. Missing a penalty. Missing a sitter. And one happy-snappy fan managed to record all the shame on camera.
On Tuesday night in Northern Ireland, fifth-place Glenavon hosted fourth-placed Glentoran. The match ended in a 2-2 stalemate, however home striker Kyle Neill was guilty of fluffing not one, but two point-blank opportunities to score within five seconds of each other.
Presented with a penalty kick, the centre-forward miserably hit his shot straight down the middle of the goal allowing keeper Andrew Taylor to make an easy save. So poor was the spot-kick, questions have to be asked as to why the keeper failed to do a better job of stopping the ball, as all the number one achieved was to repel the initial kick straight back into Neill’s path.
Now, with the keeper prostrate on the turf, and even closer to the gaping net Neill was being handed a goal on a silver platter. And yet somehow the numpty managed to balls that chance up too.
