Another Barcelona win, another championship seems inevitable, and another man-of-the-match performance from the world footballer of the year Lionel Messi.
Tuesday night was another glorious occasion for Leo Messi, who took his goal tally for the season to a remarkable 41 goals in just 46 appearances, while the diminutive Argentine also chalked up his ninth assist of the year.
Messi opened the scoring after 17 minutes when he managed to lift the ball just over Tenerife goalie Sergio Aragoneses and inside the right post. Then, 13 minutes from time Messi set up Pedro on the right, and the young striker slipped a shot between the legs of Aragoneses to make the score 3-1 to the Ctaalans. Messi capped his performance with Barca’s fourth in injury time, as he controlled a lofted pass from Alves to finish inside the left post on the last play of the match.
