Man United defender Marcos Rojo has taken to social media on Wednesday to update fans on his injury condition.
The Argentine picked up a shoulder injury during training last week, and was immediately taken for a scan.
The examination confirmed that the 25-year-old needed an operation to heal the injury, and whilst there has been no time frame placed on the Argentine’s return, Rojo is expected to be out for ‘weeks’.
The news has been a major blow to Man United and Dutch boss Louis Van Gaal who is already without first choice left back Luke Shaw for the rest of the season, after suffering a double leg fracture against PSV Eindhoven in September.
During the Champions League defeat against Wolfsburg last night, United ended the match with youngsters Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Guillermo Varela playing in the full-back positions.
United fans will hope that Marcos Rojo can make a speedy recovery.
