Marca: Arsenal agree €25m fee with Real Madrid for Sami Khedira, wage demands holding up deal

Madrid-based paper Marca, arguably the best and most reliable source of transfer news when it comes to Real Madrid, splash on their front page an update regarding German World Cup winner Sami Khedira.

Marca reveal that Arsenal have agreed a 25 million euro fee with Real Madrid for midfielder Sami Khedira.

Further down on the front page, the main article on Marca is behind a paywall, there is a rather large caveat for excited Gooners.

All that’s missing for Khedira’s signature is his “YES”. He is currently asking for 7 million euros a year. Arsenal are trying to negotiate for less.

Not only does this come from a very reliable source, it also suggests a deal is not that far off.

Khedira’s wage demands amount to around 105,000 pound a week, far from being an astronomical amount for Arsene Wenger’s side to pay.

The suspicion is that Arsenal are looking to pay Khedira around 90,000 pounds a week.

Khedira, a good friend of Mesut Ozil, would become the fourth German World Cup winner at Arsenal should he sign from Real Madrid.

Los Blancos seem keen to offload Khedira with Toni Kroos expected to sign from Bayern Munich in the next couple of days.
