Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson gives first press conference of 09/10 (video)

After unveiling new Manchester United signings Gabriel Obertan, Luis Antonio Valencia and Michael Owen, Sir Alex Ferguson has given his thoughts on the state of his squad, Cristiano Ronaldo and Owen.

Among the choice quotes are Fergie’s admission that many of the transfers over the last few weeks have been “undrealistic… and sky high, for some reason it seems to have caught fire this summer.”

The Scot also claimed that United should not “panic” with one player leaving and that he has brought “an old codger in like Michael Owen to bring experience and a lot of goals.”

Sir Alex Ferguson’s first press conference of 2009/2010 can be seen here. New Manchester United number seven Michael Owen and Luis Antonio Valencia also got their chance to speak to the press.

Gabriel Obertan’s first words as a Manchester United player, in good English, can be seen here.
