Manchester United have made an offer for Monaco forward Anthony Martial, according to French radio station RMC.
According to the well-informed RMC, United have made an incredible 50m euro bid for Martial, as they desperately seek to bring in a new attacker to lighten the load on Wayne Rooney.
Having unceremoniously told Chicharito that he can leave the club before the end of the window, that will essentially leave United with just Rooney as a recognized senior striker, with academy graduate James Wilson as back-up.
Van Gaal clearly isn’t satisfied with being so short up front, hence this offer for Martial.
The 19-year-old striker broke into the Monaco first team in 2013, and his performances for the Principality club have seen him catch the eye of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
United fans may want a striker, but it’s doubtful they’d be partying on the streets of Manchester at signing such a young and inexperienced one, at such an exorbitant price.
