Manchester United have now entered the battle to sign Raheem Sterling, according to tomorrow’ Sun.
With Arsenal and Chelsea reported to be circling, the paper claims that Man United are now prepared to make a move for the unsettled star; if all three were to really make a move, it could start a bidding war of epic proportions.
Sterling has stalled his contract talks until the end of the season, which has sparked a mass of speculation that he’s ready to leave Anfield.
That has not yet been confirmed to be the case, but that hasn’t stopped the Premier League’s biggest clubs eyeing up their chances of making a summer bid, according to the press reports this week.
It’s been 80 years since a player moved directly from Liverpool to United, and a move to United would of course be hugely controversial due to the historic rivalry between the two clubs, and would spark outrage among Liverpool fans were such a move to ever unfold.
