Man United boss Louis van Gaal has had a solid pre-season to assess his players and squad, having won every game up until tonight’s ‘final’ against Liverpool.
And after taking a small break from transfer activity during this tour, Van Gaal and his Manchester United chiefs look set to delve back into the market once they return to England.
That will of course mean some cuts will need to be made, which Van Gaal says he will treat with the utmost integrity, telling those concerned to their faces, which is an etiquette many managers often don’t even bother with:
‘I shall make judgements after this tour.
I will let all the players play and I know now more than before the tour. Now also it is a little bit soon to judge, but in football you have to judge.
“You have to give a chance to the player to make a transfer when I see that his prospects to play are not so high.
“You have to say it in advance because it’s too late after August 31.
“I will tell payers after the tour but to them, not to you.”
