Manchester United are tussling with Italian giants Inter Milan for the signature of Valencia attacker Sofiane Feghouli, according to a report by Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.
The talented Algerian wizard’s contract with the Spanish side expires next summer and clubs are hovering while Valencia try to negotiate a new deal.
Comfortable operating on the flank or in the centre, Feghouli is an extremely gifted playmaker who is averse at both scoring and setting up goals – a decent addition for a goal-shy United.
Valencia might try to cut their losses in January by selling Feghouli to the highest bidder as he wants at least double his current salary at the Mestalla.
United would have no problem giving Feghouli the package he wants (rumoured to be €4 million annually) but so could Inter, who have been splashing the cash freely over the last two years.
Louis van Gaal is also said to be interested in another Algerian: Yacine Brahimi of Porto. The skillful attacker is bound to leave the Portuguese giants for a massive fee in the near future.
