Man United’s Robin Van Persie describes knee surgery rumours as “nonsense” & talks Radamel Falcao

Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie will have to fight for his place in the first XI after the Deadline Day signing of Radamel Falcao.

It has been rumoured in recent days that Robin Van Persie needs knee surgery which will keep him out for a lengthy period.

Today, he spoke to Fox Sports in Holland and offered some very interesting quotes.

He rubbished reports of a knee surgery describing it as “nonsense”, claiming “I am impressed that people have the imagination to invent something like that”.

Van Persie also spoke about new Man United teammate Radamel Falcao. He said “I welcome his arrival, he makes us better. At a top club you should always go for the best.”

He said there will be a fight for places up front – “Falcao has to fight for his place, as I also have to.”
