Man United scouts spotted at Napoli-Swansea to watch Liverpool goalie Pepe Reina [Sky Italia]

Reports coming out of Italy this Saturday evening suggest Manchester United scouts are in Italy and will be taking a keen interest in Serie A over the next couple of days.

The reliable Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Manchester United scouts arrived in Italy on Thursday and made their way to the Napoli v Swansea game in the Europa League.

They were there to watch Pepe Reina in goal for Napoli with the Liverpool goalkeeper looking certain to leave Anfield permanently next summer.

Sky Italia suggest United are keen on Reina as back-up to David De Gea, whether the Spaniard would move to Old Trafford would be intriguing.

For much of this season it was thought likely that Reina would leave Liverpool permanently for a return to Barcelona.

There are also suggestions that Manchester United are in Italy to watch Roma central defender Mehdi Benatia, Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal and Old Lady defender Angelo Ogbonna.

It is fair to say all three would improve Manchester United’s current squad, none would cause the uproar of Pepe Reina though!
