“Whenever Iniesta steps on to the pitch, he creates a spectacle. He is the best player in the world.” – Samuel Eto’o.
For the first time this season the Spanish Primera Liga played out a full midweek set of fixtures, yet the slight deviation from the norm had litle impact on champions-elect Barcelona, who demolished Sevilla 4-nil at the Camp Nou.
Accepting most of the praise on another wonderful night for the Catalans was dinky midfielder Andres Iniesta, who pitched in with a superbly taken opener as well as a large hand in all the other three goals.
Long gone are the days when matches seemed to pass him by, this season Iniesta has become a linchpin in the centre of the park for Barca, dovetailing to perfection with Xavi and Messi in midfield and proving himself a major creative force and goalscorer.
Playing permanently with his head up, Iniesta bossed the match against Sevilla with an expert display of passes, dribbling skills and intelligent movement.
