Less than a week after scoring five goals for Manchester City against Newcastle, Sergio Aguero has succumbed to injury yet again.
Just before the 20-minute mark in Argentina’s surprise World Cup qualifying 2-0 home defeat to Ecuador, Aguero pulled up with the hamstring problem.
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini was clearly worried about Aguero even during his demolition of Newcastle with the Argentine only playing 65 minutes of that match.
Leo Messi had urged Aguero to take the number 10 shirt in his own absence, now it seems certain that Aguero will miss Argentina’s match with Paraguay on Tuesday.
Argentina Tweeted from their official account that Aguero will undergo tests on Friday…
Fantasy Premier League managers have taken the news – which came through early on Friday morning UK time – in a bad way…

Aguero off with a hamstring. Don't like seeing WC players injured but City are not half the team without him. Gotta be at least 3 weeks.

Aguero injured? Seems like all he wanted to do this season was to make me proud when I made him Triple Captain. Good guy.
