The Daily Mail’s Matt Lawton has done some excellent work in uncovering the full story as to why Malky Mackay’s appointment at Crystal Palace dramatically imploded at the 11th hour.
Mackay had appeared a shoo-in to take over at Selhurst Park until Wednesday afternoon, at which point stories about a rift over backroom staff emerged.
That story quickly gave way to a much darker tale that placed Cardiff owner Vincent Tan at the centre of the action, along with a dossier of wrongdoing from Mackay’s time at the Bluebirds.
The Daily Mail have now got their hands on the detail of the dossier, and the accusations are incredible.
Mackay, along with Crystal Palace sporting director Iain Moody (former of Cardiff), are accused of writing racist, sexist, homophobic and anti-semitic text messages.
The text messages have now been sent to the FA in breach of rules against actions which may constitute ‘aggravated misconduct’ against the Beautiful Game.
The messages can be read below, along with other front pages at the scandal involving Crystal Palace below.
