Maccabi’s Eran Zahavi got his team involved in an in-game goal celebration selfie during the Tel Aviv derby [Video]

A massive match took place in the Israeli top flight on Monday night as league leaders Maccabi Tel Aviv beat city rivals Hapoel Tel Aviv 3-2 in the derby.

Aside from the goals in the gripping five goal thriller, the standout moment in the match came after Eran Zahavi gave Maccabi the lead in the 33rd minute.

Zahavi, who memorably scored that overhead-kick in the 2010-11 Champions League campaign against Lyon, latched upon the world’s latest fad after breaking the deadlock at Bloomfield Stadium.

Zahavi ran the full length of the pitch to celebrate his goal in front of the Maccabi fans, and once in front of his own supporters the midfielder got his teammates involved in an in-game selfie goal celebration.
