Poor Lukas Podolski. The German attacker is not having a good time in Italy as he tries to rebuild his career during a loan spell at Inter Milan.
The Arsenal-owned striker reached the summit of football when he lifted the World Cup in Brazil last summer but he’s now an age away from that triumph.
He has yet to open his account for Inter Milan and has suffered a succession of embarrassing moments which reinforce the opinion that he’s a flop.
That it is a common verdict is confirmed by a poll conducted by Gazzetta dello Sport.
They asked readers who they thought was the worst signing of the Serie A season and Podolski was only spared top spot by fellow flop Alessio Cerci.
The former Bayern Munich player garnered 36% of the vote while Cerci was crowned top of the flops with a humiliating 46% of the vote. Inter have an option to buy Podolski at the end of the season but it doesn’t look like he’ll be in Italy beyond the summer.
