Although heading into the U17 European Championships England were full of confidence, two matches in, and John Peacock’s Young Lions are still waiting for their first win of the games.
At the weekend England were made to look second best all over the park, as Germany mauled the Young Lions 4-nil. The star of the show was Liverpool’s young German midfielder Christopher Buchtmanm, who was responsible for creating three of the four goals, and was generally found bossing the play in middle of the pitch. Buchtmann made the first three goals of the game for Robert Labus, Lennart Thy and Kevin Scheidhauer respectively.
At 16-years-old, Buchtmanm was recently snapped up by the Anfield club from Borussia Dortmund, and so far the young midfielder with a silky left-foot looks like one to watch in the future.
