Undoubtedly Liverpool fans will come across the article in today’s Sunday Sun, which claims that the Reds will shell out up to £100 million on new players this summer.
The story has the feel of make-believe about it, as the Sun offer absolutely no evidence or substance behind any of their claims.
Moreover, the red top seems to be recycling old stories which, obviously, have yet to come to fruition.
Having poured cold water on the Sun’s piece, here’s what they say.
Firstly, Jurgen Klopp may spend a small fortune this summer. Secondly, Stoke keeper Jack Butland or Southampton’s Fraser Forster, Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze and Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are all linked to the Scousers.
NOTE: Aubameyang was actually linked to “Emgish football” according to the Sun. (Don’t they have editors!)
