Lionel Messi scores twice in charity match between his Amigos & Mexican All Stars

Just a week after a sensational performance for Argentina against Brazil, Lionel Messi performed in a charity match in Mexico on Saturday night in aid of disabled children.

Alongside Messi, in his Amigos team, were the likes of Javier Mascherano, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Robinho as well as two Dos Santos brothers (Giovani and Jonathan) and they were coached by Dunga.

Messi and co. ran out 5-3 winners thanks to two strikes from the Barcelona forward as well as goals by John Viafara, Diego and Daniel Osvaldo.

Damian Alvarez, Darwin Quintero and Daniel Montenegro notched for the Mexico All Stars.

Due to an issue with his flights Messi missed a planned dinner with fans on Friday night and “The Flea” said afterwards: “I apologize because I was expected here yesterday, but I had problems with the flight, but I’m here to help, it’s lovely to have the opportunity to play with so many stars.”

There was also confirmation after the match that Messi’s girlfriend is pregnant. “We didn’t want to say anything because we never talk about our private lives, but the rumours became too strong so we confirmed it. It’s a great joy for us and for our families. We’re living this moment with a lot of joy. Will it be a boy or a girl? It’s a boy.”
