Leo Messi shouted out the relatively unknown 20-year-old Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Aleksey Miranchuk today on Facebook.
It wasn’t just because the Barcelona star spotted a clip of Miranchuk on YouTube.
Back in September, Leo Messi and Adidas partnered for a novel campaign, which saw 10 footballers wear his new limited edition Messi 15 boots this season.
The premise of the “Backed By Messi” campaign was to create the idea that these 10 players can potentially emulate Messi would day and achieve their own greatness.
One of those players was Miranchuk, and he was recently picked to be the winner of Russia’s Young Player of the Year award.
