This is the response from Legia Warsaw supporters to UEFA’s decision to kick the club out of the Champions League. The vibrant street art shows one fan urinating on UEFA’s badge along with the message ‘WE WILL BE BACK’.
Legia Warsaw fans weren’t the only ones who saw injustice in their expulsion from the UEFA Champions League.
The Polish club were kicked out of the competition after bringing on an ineligible player in the second leg clash, thus forfeiting their 2-0 victory at Murrayfield over Celtic; the overturned result meant a 3-0 automatic victory for the Scottish club, sending them through 4-4 aggregate, thanks to the away goals rule.
However, the player brought on only came on the pitch in the dying embers of the game, when the result was never in question. Legia were 6-1 up on aggregate and the player would have been cleared to play had he been registered for previous ties.
