Christian Vieri trolls Inter Milan on Twitter for failing to secure the Guarin & Vucinic swap deal

Inter Milan are being labelled a joke this Wednesday after a potential swap deal of Fredy Guarin with Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic was torpedoed at the last minute by Nerazzurri owner Erick Thohir.

Guarin had reportedly agreed terms with Juventus on Tuesday, while Vucinic had passed a medical with Inter in what looked to be a done deal. But then Thohir stepped into the mix.

Under pressure from a group of Inter fans opposed to the swap deal, and who were demonstrating outside the club’s headquarters, Inter pulled out of the negotiations for the following reasons, according to Thohir:

After speaking to my closest aides and exchanging views with Massimo Moratti and his son Angelomario this morning, I decided not to continue negotiations with Juventus.

I felt it was not possible to reach an agreement on a deal in which the opinions of the two parties differed and which did not offer a clear financial or technical benefit to the club.

Inter, 5th in Serie A but a whopping 23 points off league leaders Juventus, are now considered a laughing stock in Italy for pulling out of the deal at the last minute, and the most viral abused levelled at Inter appears to have come from former star Christian Vieri who publicly trolled Inter on Twitter. Twice.

Vieri, 40, who scored 103 goals in 143 Inter games, simply laughed at Inter on the microblogging platform for bungling the Guarin-Vucinic swap deal.
