La Undécima! Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale aims to retain Champions League [Mail]

Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale has set his sights on being part of the first team to retain the European Cup in the Champions League era.

In quotes reported by the Daily Mail, Bale was in Cardiff for the UEFA Super Cup clash with Sevilla and hopes to build on last season’s success: “Every season we want to win every trophy we’re in for. We’ll be trying our best to win the Champions League and the Spanish League again. It’s great to be back home but the most important thing is to win the game and the cup. We need to focus on that and not on me playing in my home town.

It was a great season last year winning trophies, but the most important thing now is to win the Super Cup and it doesn’t matter who scores the winning goal. We’ll work hard again to try and try to win the trophy.”

Real Madrid have only strengthened in the summer bringing in world-class players like James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos and Keylor Navas but will also look to the ever-improving Bale to build on his magnificent first season in Spain.

The Welsh attacker scored the winning goals in both the Copa Del Rey and Champions League finals.
