Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is unveiled by Real Madrid

Real Madrid, faced with a mounting injury list including many of their top players, have moved quickly to prepare for the January sales by already signing Klaas Jan Huntelaar from Ajax for £17 million. With the striker currently sidelined by an ankle injury, Los Blancos were able to officially introduce Huntelaar to the Spanish press and Madrid fans today.

Accompanied by club president Ramon Calderon and honorary president Alfredo Di Stefano at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, the Dutch striker appeared to break his teeth grinding out in Spanish, “Thank you to Mr. Di Stefano and the president. I am very proud to play for Real Madrid. Many goals. Thank you to everybody.”

As is standard fanfare, Huntelaar then took to the field in his new number 19 Madrid shirt, entertaining the crowd with a few skills and lapping up their almost-manufactured unconditional love.
