Juve planning summer bid for Oscar, opening door for Pogba to move to Chelsea [Mirror]

As transfer stories go, this one is really out of left-field.

Italian champions Juventus are planning a summer bid for Oscar, according to The Mirror, which is quite  a surprising one given how integral the Brazilian is to Mourinho’s plans.

The paper claim that Juve are confident of landing Oscar for around £20million.

Despite the winter arrival of Juan Cuadrado, Oscar has remained effectively a mainstay in the Chelsea side, so Juve’s plan sounds a bit fanciful.

Unless it were all part of a hidden deal to allow Pogba to move to Chelsea, as the Mirror intimate.

They say that were Chelsea to sell Oscar to Juve, that would open the door for Chelsea to make a move for Paul Pogba, the hottest young talent in world football.

Without so much as describing Oscar as a ‘makeweight’, they do insinuate that Juve would be moving for Oscar preemptively, aware that that Pogba is likely to depart Turin this summer, and that they’ll need someone to replace him.

Coincidentally, Oscar scored his first goals for Chelsea against Juventus back in 2012.
