John Lennon scores with an assist from Michael Jackson! (Atletico GO 4 – Oeste 0)

Now this is pretty special – and doesn’t happen every day!

Atletico GO beat Oeste 4-0 on Friday night in Brazil’s Serie B thanks to goals from Bida, Jorginho, Marino and John Lennon.

That’s right, the scorer of the fourth goal was John Lennon and he was set up with a right wing cross from… Michael Jackson.

Atletico GO made three “big name” signings this summer: John Lennon, Michael Jackson and Mahatma Gandhi (this is not a joke).

Essentially, Brazilian parents over the past few decades appear to have named their offspring after famous people so we have two players combining for Atletico GO going by famous musicians.

John Lennon Silva Santos scored the fourth goal for Atletico GO and he was set up by Carlos Adriano de Souza Cruz, who often goes by his nickname, Michael Jackson.

As a result, the commentary below is pretty epic!

In Brazil, they have dubbed this a “gol musical!”
