If Gabriel Obertan continues his Manchester United career the way he has started it, then Nani’s future at Old Trafford will surely come to a more rapid conclusion.
With United up-against-it last night in the Champions League against CSKA Moscow, Sir Alex Ferguson threw on the young Frenchman for Federico Macheda to make his third appearance for the United first team since moving from Bordeaux in the summer.
Unlike Nani, often the scourge of United for his over-flamboyance and lack of end product, Obertan seemed content to do the simple things well by hugging the left touch-line, retaining possession with simple passes, and using his lightning pace whenever the opportunity presented itself.
One observation though. Much like Ashley Young at Aston Villa, Obertan, a right-footed footballer, consistently cut in on his favoured foot against the Russians as opposed to beating his full-back down the line. While this brought success on Tuesday night, opposing teams will quickly wise-up to the youngsters predictability if he proves unable to cross with his left-peg in the long-run.

As a bonus, Ronaldinho once again showed some sparkling touches and skills during AC Milan’s 1-all draw with Real Madrid on Tuesday night, with the buck-toothed wonder netting the Rossoneri’s only goal with an unstoppable penalty.
