There was a great stat at halftime of Arsenal versus QPR on Saturday.
In his first 45 minutes of play in the Arsenal starting XI for a hell of a long time, Jack Wilshere completed all 33 passes that he attempted against the Super Hoops.
Whilst the Gunners only defeat Rangers in the final moments with a Mikel Arteta goal, the main storyline at the Emirates was the 67 minutes completed by England youngster Wilshere.
Without doing anything fantastic, Wilshere was more than solid in his Arsenal return. He looked hungry for possession after being out of action for such a long time, and he took it upon himself to initiate attacking moves in the middle of the park.

The main talking point though was the return of Jack Wilshere. Not informed of his inclusion until 10.30am on the morning of the match, it was almost like he’d never been away. His quality is obvious and with more games and more fitness he’ll be even better, but to have come through a good hour, withstood a number of hefty challenges by QPR players (including one quite nasty stamp on his foot/ankle), and played that well will have done him the world of good.
